VP, Business Development

Phase2 is seeking an experienced, dynamic, motivated Business Development professional to help us build and grow the Phase2 sales team, find and win business, and build high value accounts by selling Phase2 services. You will be responsible for owning a piece of the Phase2 portfolio and will build business through outreach campaigns as well as through leads from inbound marketing efforts.  This position will also build business within existing client accounts. This is a customer-facing, revenue-accountable role, but also a management position where you may have direct reports.

You thrive on building strength and predictability within the sales organization, but also in winning new business and actively creating new opportunities.  You work collaboratively with other team members, and have responsibility for mentoring and coaching your direct reports within the sales team.  You are looking for a company where you can continue building a successful career and where your leadership and experience have direct impacts on not only the sales team, but Phase2 as a company. Do you have the following qualifications?

  • Managing, mentoring, and coaching more junior members of a sales team.
  • Experience building, managing, and continually developing a sales pipeline to achieve targets.
  • Directing reports in a way that facilitates the building of your portfolio, including leading prospecting activities, assisting with outreach, qualification, etc.
  • Experience selling custom, complex, multi-discipline, high value ($500,000+) services and solutions and a track record of overachievement.
  • Experience with relationship building and consultative sales abilities with outstanding presentation, communication, technical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Impacting and influencing sales, positioning, and offerings strategy discussions with sales and company leadership.
  • Working across departments to create and design market segment campaigns to reach potential customers in a personalized and targeted way.
  • Educating and consulting with prospective customers’ about how solution offerings will meet their needs.
  • Writing and delivering proposals and presentations and other supporting documents as needed.
  • Leading pricing and position strategies for prospective clients.
  • Positioning new client accounts for healthy, long-term relationships through deep collaboration with internal teams and through client expectation management.  
  • Influencing pre- and post-sale solutions to deliver the greatest level of value to a given client based on understanding of client’s needs, budget, and business environment.
  • Experience on closing contracts.
  • At least 10 years experience in one of the following: custom software/agency sales experience, sales experience, other related business experience.
  • Background in a specific industry such as healthcare, consumer brands, or B2B is a plus
  • Working with Salesforce.
  • BA/BS Degree.
